Finishing High School Faster – Possible

While it is entirely possible to finish All Gifted High School’s required credits in two calendar years, there must be some higher level of commitment that a learner must possess in order to do that. That feat is accomplished through learners and mentors committing to our work.

Potential learners often come to us desiring to race through course work, and ‘get’ a diploma. Our response is that, yes, it is possible to earn a diploma in a shorter amount of time than in a traditional setting; however, you, the learner, must be committed to your work.

Progressing Through the Grade Levels

A typical progression/schedule for high school is as follows:

September – Courses taken:

  • English I – After orientation, learners begin with one course. Then, during the course request window, will select the next course to begin on the first day of the next month

To start on September 1, you have to enroll in August, to give you time to start and finish Orientation!

October – Courses taken:

  • English I – this is the second month of English I, so it will be finished by the last day of the month.
  • Algebra I – the learner starts Algebra I on October 1

November – Courses taken:

  • Algebra I – this is the second month of Algebra I, so it will be finished by the last day of the month.
  • Biology – the learner starts biology on November 1

November – Courses taken:

  • Algebra I – this is the second month of Algebra I, so it will be finished by the last day of the month.
  • Biology – the learner starts biology on November 1

December – Courses taken:

  • Biology – this is the second month of the biology course, so it will be finished by the last day of the month.
  • World Geography – the learner starts World Geography on December 1

January – Courses taken:

  • World Geography – this is the second month of the World Geography course, so it will be finished by the last day of the month.
  • Elective course – an elective course, like Spanish I (or any other course)

February – Courses taken:

  • Elective Course – the learner is in the last month of the elective course, and it will end on the last day of February.
  • Elective Course – the learner begins the second elective course on February 1

March – Courses taken:

  • Elective course – the learner completes the second elective course on the last day of March. The grade level ends, and the learner moves on to the next grade level

In the scenario above, the learner requires no extension and would start the next grade level immediately, and continue to move toward graduation- and that’s how you finish high school in two years!
